Can A Guy Like You And Still Pull Away And Be Done?

Words I like: “A man can admire the sun without staying in its light; liking doesn’t always mean commitment.”

I think you’re all going to be shocked by the answer I have in this post. But I will explain why I think the way I do. If you want more information on men or help with your particular situation, make sure to join my community which you can find here.

What Do We Mean By Like?

Many women will come to me and say that they’re confused because this guy showed so much interest but still pulled away.

The first thing I ask them is, “What do you mean by interest?” Or “What does interest mean to you?”

Interest can mean many things and have many motives. Maybe he is interested in you as he wants to see where things go. Or maybe he’s interested in the assets you offer and doing it all to get in your pants.

What I am trying to get at is there is a spectrum:

What you’re really asking is if there is a cut off point. Is there an amount a guy can like you and still pull away.

Well, kinda.

This Is Where It Gets Confusing…

I am just going to give you the answer: yes, a guy can like you (as in YOU and have FEELINGS for you) and still pull away.

It sounds counterproductive, but it’s not when you realize the reason and other “force” pulling him away.

I often tell people that a guy can like you without wanting a relationship. That liking you is out of his control, while a relationship is a lifestyle choice.

If this is the case, you will have some men who aren’t wanting a relationship, in a good situation in life right now where a relationship isn’t a priority, or just emotionally unavailable men who like you, what you two have, and may even be willing to continue to entertain it….as long as it doesn’t turn into a relationship.

It’s that last part that pushes men away.

Basically, if a man continues to talk to a girl who wants a relationship, she should assume he wants the same thing and that it heads towards a relationship. The man doesn’t want that though. So even though he likes you, letting you go would be the right thing to do to prevent a relationship or to avoid giving you hope.

That’s why men who like you pull away. It’s not you. They just don’t want a relationship. And no, it’s not “You mean he doesn’t want a relationship with me right?” Could be…but usually they don’t commit for a while to anyone.
